Shenandoah National Park Camping Weekend SOLD OUT!!! (B+)

Friday, June 8 - Tuesday, June 12

Hike the famed Appalachian Trail through Shenandoah National Park.  We'll be hiking at a moderate pace an average of 8 to 10 miles a day with elevation gains ranging from 700' to 2,500 feet a day. Each day we hike we'll enjoy a panoramic views of forested mountains, valleys and  farmland from frequent vistas. Expect an abundance of spring wildflowers, pretty waterfalls and park wildlife including deer, raccoon, opossum and black bear. Hike rugged Old Rag or  White Oak Canyon. Camping fee of approximately $10 per night at Riverside Campground about 30 to 45 minutes outside of the park.                         Plus park entrance fee of $30 per car. Joint…

Spring Walk Around Stump Pond (B-)

Sunday, June 10

Enjoy a late spring walk on a moderately paced six mile loop around Stump Pond in Suffolk County's Blydenburgh Park. Stump Pond is the third largest freshwater body on Long Island and is rich with aquatic life. Follow a winding trail through the woods, crossing the headwaters of the Nissequogue River and enjoying occasional views of the blue waters of Stump Pond. Traverse a quarter mile wooden boardwalk through wetland area. Bring snack and water. Harriman State Park Loop Hike (B+)

Saturday, June 16

This will a moderately paced loop hike of 7 miles with several panoramic viewpoints from rock ledges. We’ll start from Tuxedo Train Station and find out how steep (very) Almost Perpendicular actually is and how the Elbow Brush got it’s name. We’ll try to pace our hike so our lunch break is on top of historic Claudius Smith Rock and then visit a natural rock dam, before returning to our starting point. Bring lunch, and adequate hydration. Bike the Barns and Camping 2018 (B+)

Friday, September 28 - Sunday, September 30

Cost $97 pp (less for certain options). Two nights camping in the Champlain Valley, 45 mile road bike tour on Sunday 9/30 (10 mile and 80 mile tour options also available) Join us on Sunday September 30 for Bike the Barns, a fully supported recreational road cycling tour supporting the rich agricultural movement of the North Country. This one-day farm-by-bike experience will feature farm tour stops staged along the route where you can personally connect with the local food revolution. The agritourism experience culminates with a finish line local food celebration complete with a meal, beverages and live music. All proceeds will be used to support local farms and a portion of every rider's event fee will go directly into the FarmSharefund.…
